Tuesday is the first day of autumn.  This has been an unusually cool summer.
 
Elaine Canney joined the Weldon Bridge Thursday and we helped her celebrate her birthday. Normalee Quayle had a birthday Sept. 13 and Judy Jenkins was treated to a birthday party this weekend. Happy Birthday, Girls!
 
Derschill and Shirley Pennach of Osceola had a birthday party for her cousin Elaine Canney.  Those helping to celebrate were David and Wanda Gorsline, Warren and Sue Keeler of Osceola and Jim Canney of Kingsland, Texas. Jim and Elaine will be returning to their home in 307 Covenent Lane, Kingford, Texas.
 
The Weldon Depot Board met recently to appoint a new member, Jim Ellis, to replace Don Carson.  Don is living in Osceola Care Center and is doing well.  The Weldon Fire Department was hired to wash the caboose.  The next project is painting the caboose this year.
 
Avis and Harlan Collins visited their daughter, Martha and Lyle Maney of Mercer, Mo. They are the new great-grandparents. Adam and Carrie Ann Mankey have a new baby boy, Coeger Zane Maney.
 
Gareth and Connie Deemer's grandson Logan and Megan Deemer, Carla and Darla Deemer had Sunday dinner together.  Connie Deemer's friend Norma Konner is here from Lakeland, Colo. Kathy Mason and Jackie Griffith took Norma Konner to her friends.
 
Carol Burkhart, cousin of Pearcy's has recovered from foot surgery. She would like to thank Jerry Quayle, Avis Collins, Betty Savely, Sharon Hagen, Kathy Mason and Charles Pearcy  for their wonderful friendship.
 
Several people from Weldon attended the Historic Round Barn Site Of Viet Nam Veterans called the "Moving Wall"at Allerton. The Moving Wall is a replica of the one in Washington, D.C. More information will be in next weeks Weldon News. Several people went from Weldon.
