William DeLong

William “Billy” Dale DeLong, son of Lenard E DeLong and Wanda L. (Fry) DeLong, was born March 27, 1979, in Leon, and passed from this life Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines at 40 years of age.

Billy graduated from Clarke Community High School. He has lived in Osceola, Van Wert and Leon. He was employed as a bouncer at Big Earls’ in Des Moines. Billy enjoyed leather work, trail rides, rodeo, art and drawing. He was a history buff and enjoyed saddle repair, horses and hunting.

Those relatives who preceded Billy in death were his maternal grandparents, Don and Jeanette Fry; paternal grandparents, Darrell and Betty DeLong; cousins, Darrin Hatfield, Tanner Matlage and Tonya Miller; and uncles, Bob Hatfield, Bob Jubell, Larry Miller and Bernie Miller.

Billy leaves to cherish his memory his children, Casey DeLong-Boardman, Charmayne DeLong-Boardman and Christopher DeLong-Boardman, all of Weston, Wyoming, and Weston DeLong of Humeston; stepchildren, Madison McNutt of Humeston and Ashley McNutt of Humeston; father Lenard DeLong of Altoona; mother Wanda DeLong of Van Wert; six aunts, Jan Miller of Murray, Pennie Jubell of Osceola, Sharon Miller of Murray, Deb (Brian) Brown of New Virginia, Dara (Steve) Queck of Peru and Donna Hatfield of Van Wert; as well as other relatives and many friends.
