Murray FFA

On Thursday, May 2nd the Murray FFA held their annual Petting Zoo. The elementary students were invited to look at and learn about all the animals the FFA members and community brought. Members bringing animals/farm equipment were: Kayla Wookey (chicken), Daniel Little (runner ducks and a tractor), Kendra Boles (horse), Kendra Boles (horse), Katy Gibbs (gilt), Hailey Chew (dog), Britta Callstrom (dog), Ally Waske (dog), Hannah Paschke (puppies), Jayden Lynn (goat and bunnies), Jacob Fuller (calf), Colton Siefkas (tractor and cultivator). Community members assisted by bringing in equipment and animals, as well: Jessica Travis (miniature burrow), Darwin Downing (ewe and lambs), John Siekfas (ATV). Cierra Mastin and Kendra painted a mock skeletal system on the horse to demonstrate how the bones move as the horse moved on the lunge line. John, Colton, and Kegan Johnson demonstrated farm safety around a tractor and ATV. Each year, the goal is to educate young students on the basics of animal safety, handling, and care, as well as improve their understanding of the importance of farm safety.
