Crossroads Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) announced the official opening of their Osceola Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Clinic. The MAT Clinic, located at 405 E. McLane St. in Osceola, will now be offering dosing services between 7 a.m. to noon Monday through Saturday. CBHS has partnered with UCS Healthcare, a local integrated healthcare service provider, to operate the clinic. UCS Healthcare is dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services to all those seeking treatment in a relaxed, professional and comfortable environment.
“This is really the only clinic offering these services south of Des Moines,” said Bre Leymaster, office manager at CBHS Osceola. “The accessibility of this location is critical for those overcoming opioid addiction in southern Iowa.”
Despite the Iowa Department of Public Health’s recent findings concluding opioid addiction rates are decreasing in Iowa, CBHS is confident the addition of facilities such as the MAT Clinic will continue to assist in lowering those rates even further.
“We are excited to get this clinic open and available to the public,” said Erin Miller, CBHS Executive Director. “Our clinic will be able to provide life-saving services and medications to people experiencing withdrawal related to opioid use.”
Crossroads Administration hopes offering medication assisted treatment services, in conjunction with mental health therapy and addiction counseling, will better serve members of the community working to overcome substance use disorders.
“We are doing everything we can to take a ‘whole-human’ approach to mental health,” said Wesley Starlin, clinical director at CBHS. “Securing our ability to provide medication, along with our existing services of mental health therapy and addiction counseling, will help us get one step closer to that goal.”
