March found us being summoned to the courthouse to remove observers and participants from a trial. We had snow, met with the Clerk of Court, Magistrate, County Attorney and us on some procedural issues. Performed alcohol compliance checks on everyone who has a liquor license. We had three failures meaning our operative was able to purchase alcohol underage at three establishments. Those clerks were cited.
Our training this month was related to Haz-Mat. We had an officer asked to assist the DNE, Division of Narcotics Enforcement, in the execution of several search warrants around Polk County. Eventually this case was related to Osceola.
We’ve done several search warrants and we tested the Tornado sirens in conjunction with the State-wide tornado drill. All of our sirens operated as they should. We will now be doing weekly testing on Thursdays at 9 a.m. I also spoke at the middle school career day.
Statistically, we responded to 446 calls for service, issued 44 citations and 35 written warnings. We responded to 21 accident calls though only 7 required reports. We arrested 33 people.
