Three vehicle accident

Three vehicles were involved in an accident 8:32 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Highway 69 and Highway 152.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, Andrew James Boyce, 43, of New Virginia, driving a 2004 Dodge truck was traveling southbound on Highway 69 near Highway 152. Ricky Gene Robins, 60, of Murray, driving a 2018 Clarke County-owned dump truck was stopped at on the northbound lane of Highway 69 waiting to turn west onto Highway 152. Ann Christine Bartelt, 65, of Saint Charles, driving a 2017 Ford Focus was traveling east on Highway 152 and couldn’t see due to the sun in her eyes. Bartelt failed to stop at the stop sign, drove into the path of Boyce’s vehicle and both vehicles then collided with Robins’ vehicle.

Bartelt was cited for failure to obey stop sign and was also the only person involved in the accident to be transported from the scene.

Estimated damage was $10,000 to Boyce’s vehicle, $1,500 to the Clarke County-owned dump truck driven by Robins and $15,000 to Bartelt’s vehicle.
