CHARITON – Clarke’s volleyball season closed out Saturday in the first round of Class 3A Region 2 action in which the Lady Indians fell in straight sets to Chariton 25-15, 25-15, 25-16.
It was a Chariton team that Clarke had swept in straight sets just eight days prior.
Ashlynn Oehlert led the Lady Indians with 13 digs on defense while Cady Crawford added 10 of her own. Crawford was also 9 of 10 serving with two aces.
Megan Linskens led the attack with five aces while Deseree Stubbe and Kiaya Dunbar each added three kills apiece. Dunbar led the Lady Indians on the block as well with four solo blocks.
Audrey Kindred dished out nine assists while Linskens passed out three more.
Clarke ends the season with an 8-13 overall record and will lose a talented senior class that has provided the team with plenty of depth over the years.
Oehlert, Linskens, Crawford, Kindred, Stubbe, Sydney Garrett and Sarah Davis will all depart in the spring.
