Winship, Deutsch take all-SCC baseball honors once more

Payton Winship and Conner Deutsch both capped their junior seasons with honorable mention all-South Central Conference honors as awarded by the SCC’s coaches.

Both garnered the same honors in 2017 and Deutsch earned a spot on the second team in 2016.

Winship hit .365 with five doubles and 11 runs scored. He owned a .412 on base percentage and started in all 20 of Clarke’s games.

Winship won two games in 36 innings pitched, struck out 44 and posted a 2.72 ERA. Opponents hit just .210 against Winship.

Deutsch hit .229 and put up a .422 on base percentage. Deutsch committed three errors and owned a .962 fielding percentage while often playing shortstop. Deutsch also struck out 18 opponents in 18 innings work on the mound.
