The Murray FFA was busy this past week trying to make up activities missed during FFA week due to inclement weather.

Twelve members traveled to Sub-District Career Development Event competition in Adel on Feb. 27. Kayla Wookey received a silver rating in Agriculture Broadcasting. Britta Callstrom, Ally Waske and Bailey Frederick received a bronze rating in Chapter Program. Kegan Johnson competed in the Chapter Quiz. Freshman Aden Cosner, Cole Lecy, Chance Lecy, Emma Decker, Katy Gibbs, Fisher Richman, and Daniel Little competed in the Greenhand Quiz and received a silver. The top four Greenhand Quiz scorers were one point from advancing to Districts.

Members will be traveling to District FFA in Grinnell on March 10th. Ten Greenhand members were recognized during FFA week: Fisher Richman, Emma Decker, Katy Gibbs, Kinzee Eggers, Daniel Little, Chance Lecy, Cole Lecy, Jace Rodecker, Aden Cosner, and Colton Siefkas.

The Murray FFA completed a community service project called Pack the Court. They challenged each class and high school advisory to bring non-perishable food items. The members then organized and packed on the items and delivered them to the Murray Church of Christ Food Pantry and the Osceola Food Pantry. The Murray Student Council helped deliver the items. The Murray FFA wants to thank all of those who were involved in making this project a success.

The week ended with the Sweetheart Dance and voting of the Sweetheart and Beau. The winning candidates were Levi Snyder and Rebecca Henrichs!
