Osceola, there's no place like home

Awards were distributed at the Chamber Main Street, Osceola there’s no place like home, banquet Monday at Lakeside Casino to many businesses in the community. The Industrial Tech Advisory Board Charter Member awards went to ALTEC, Clarke Rural Electric Cooperative, Paul Mueller Company, Osceola Foods, SIMCO, Salford, Miller Products Company and Clarke Community Schools.

The Silver Arrow Award was presented to Mickey Thomas for business achievement, in reference to Robinson’s, for 25 years of service.

Beth Brown earned the 2017 Community Service Award for all her work as the ‘bird lady’ over the years. She was nominated by Scott Kent and her family surprised her by being at the ceremony when she accepted her award.

Among those present, Gov. Kim Reynolds and Sen. Joni Ernst were at the banquet and each gave opening remarks encouraging growth in Osceola through small businesses and manufacturers.
