An employee of Hy-Vee Food Stores reported fifth-degree theft for items purchased with bad checks between 2:59 p.m. May 13 and 3:32 p.m. May 21.

Suzyrae Marie Clark, of Leon, reported the theft of a bike between midnight Friday, July 7, and 9 a.m. Monday, July 10, from 218 Warrant Ct.

Curvonte Davelle Jarrett, 24, 121 W. McLane St., was charged with drug possession with intent to deliver marijuana, failure to affix a drug stamp, interference with official acts and child endangerment after officers conducted a search warrant on Jarrett’s vehicle 6:44 p.m. Monday, July 10, at the intersection of Temple Street and Jefferson Street.

According to an Osceola Police report, officers located approximately 59 grams of suspected marijuana in the purse of a female passenger, Brittany Jo Ann Bailey, 25, 121 W. McLane St. There was no valid tax stamp attached to the plant material. Jarrett said the marijuana belonged to him. There was a 5-year-old child in the vehicle at the time. Jarrett and the child are household members. Additionally, Jarrett resisted arrest by physically pulling away from officers and refusing to follow verbal commands.

Bailey was similarly charged with drug possession with intent to deliver marijuana, failure to affix a drug stamp, interference with official acts and child endangerment in relation to the incident.

According to reports, Bailey refused to follow officer commands and physically resisted handing her purse to officers. She is the mother of the minor child present in the vehicle during the search.

Jarrett is being held on $15,000 cash bond. Police seized his vehicle, valued at $2,730.

Charles Fredrick Sisk, 54, 120 W. Shaw St., Apt. 25, was charged with third-degree harassment 11:28 p.m. Tuesday, July 11.

Sisk posted $500 cash bond.

Darryle M. McDowell, 42, of Dolton, Illinois, was charged with first-degree harassment, breaking and entering, controlled substance violation and failure to affix a drug stamp 11:47 p.m. Tuesday, July 11.

According to an Osceola Police report, McDowell texted a local individual saying he was going to kill her, that she deserved to die and he would not “make the Alabama mistake twice.” McDowell had previously assaulted the individual in Alabama, breaking her neck. McDowell drove from Illinois to Iowa with the intent to kill the woman. He arrived at her home, broke in a second-story door and entered her residence, where he was apprehended by police. In addition, McDowell was in possession of approximately 400 grams of marijuana he intended to deliver. He did not have a tax stamp for the marijuana.

Bond is set at $50,000 cash.

Amanda Marie Comly, 30, of Murray was charged with driving while barred and contempt of court 10:01 a.m. Thursday, July 13, at the Law Enforcement Center.

Comly will serve 32 days in county jail.

Jackelynn Delle Giles, 29, of Kellerton was taken into custody on a warrant issued from outside Clarke County.

Troy Christopher Ryan Page, 29, 307 S. Kossuth St., was charged with first-degree harassment 6:57 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at his residence.

According to an Osceola Police report, Jeffrey Scott Page said Troy was being destructive and hitting a metal rod against the outside of the house during an argument. Jeff said he asked Troy what he was doing, and Troy responded, “I should kill you.”

Bond is set at $2,000 cash.

Sherry Lynn Parkhurst, 1994 Old Highway 34, reported the violation of a no contact order occurring between 10:58 p.m. Monday, July 17, and 10:54 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at 131 E. Ayers St.

Tyler Phillip Montgomery, 19, 631 E. Ayers St., Apt. B8, was charged with a controlled substance violation and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia 12:03 a.m. Friday, July 21, at his residence.

According to Osceola Police reports, Montgomery was in possession of approximately 26 grams of marijuana, two pipes used to smoke marijuana, two bongs used to smoke marijuana, a scale used to weigh marijuana, a marijuana grinder, baggies and rolling papers.

Montgomery posted a $5,000 surety bond.

Brandon Scott Adair, 23, 300 E. May St., was charged with driving while suspended 8:52 p.m. Friday, July 21, at the intersection of Main Street and Fayette Street.

Adair posted $300 cash bond.
