A hunting we will go

Children in four age groups flocked to the Osceola Courthouse lawn 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, for a chance to find candy-filled eggs and win big prizes. The weather threatened to rain the event out, but it held off until all the children were finished and the prizes and awards had been handed out.

Easter festivities were hosted by Osceola Chamber Main Street and sponsored by Country Concrete, Hy-Vee, Osceola Foods and Clarke County Publishing.

Pastors and volunteers from LifePoint Church sang, told stories and had a few games before announcing the winners of the coloring contest and kicking off the egg hunts. Special “golden eggs” contained codes participants used to claim their prizes.

Locals winners of the bikes donated by Clarke County Publishing include Liam O’Hair, Paylen VanWinkle and Julia Cline.
