Creston Farmers’ Market will hold its annual farmers’ market meeting/workshop Saturday, March 11, from 1pm to 3pm at the Creston Restored Depot, 116 West Adams Street in Creston, IA. This workshop, which is free, is suited for aspiring and current farmers’ market vendors and managers.
Creston Farmers’ Market manager, Brian Zachary, will give an overview of Creston Farmers’ Market, including rules and regulations. He will also have farmers’ market registration forms on hand.
Alexi Groumoutis, local foods coordinator, from Southern Iowa RC&D will give a presentation on Farmer Market Trends.
Kurt Reuber from the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals will be available to answer questions about farmers’ market food regulations.
Matt Brummett will give an overview of Iowa Farmers' Market Stands, a website he's designing to connect consumers with farmers' market vendors.
Dr. Shannon Coleman, Iowa State Extension specialist, will give a presentation on "Cottage Food Laws in Iowa: What kind of license do I need?"
