“Counting Stars” was the title of the Clarke High School Chorus Talent Show held 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 in the Clarke Auditorium.
The Concert Choir and Chamber Choir were under the direction of Ms. Ann March and student teacher Andrew Kecy of Simpson College.
The concert included music by Taylor Swift, Journey, America, Bruno Mars, One Republic, Justin Beiber, Coldplay, Green Day, Ed Sheeran, and from the Broadway show “Wicked”.
Soloists included: MacKenzie Slyhuis, Samantha Belden, Riley Elben, Cristian Valadez, Lee Ann Helgevold, Dana Pearson, Remington Cook, Brandon Chavez, Erin Gay, Jasmine Rebol, Izzy Buddenhagen, and Parker Smith. Brittany Beckett debuted her own solo composition “Stupid Questions,” while accompanying herself on the ukulele.
Emcees were seniors Samantha Farlow, LeeAnn Helgevold and Cristian Valadez. Remington Cook and Dakota Newburg ran lights and Izzy Buddenhagen ran sound.
A reception was held in the cafeteria following the performance for the performers and audience members.
