The School Board President and Superintendent for Clarke Community Schools released the following joint statement regarding immigration at Monday night’s school board meeting:
“Clarke Community Schools supports the inclusiveness, educational diversity, and benefits of all students. Our school district will continue to support and educate all students who come through Clarke’s doors to the fullest extent allowed by law.”
Superintendent Steve Seid wanted to ease community concerns in the distict.
“It’s a good statement, but is there a political motive behind it?” asked school board member Gerard Linskens.
“Not from us,” said Seid. “We just want our families to know we will educate everyone who comes through our door.”
