Jody Coenen Osceola

Jody Ray Coenen, 43, of Osceola died Friday, April 15, 2016, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Celebration of life services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola, with interment following in Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola. Open visitation was Tuesday with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to his family for an educational fund to be established for his son Noah. Jody Ray Coenen, son of Raymond Edward Coenen and Twyla Jean Hammons Coenen, was born May 18, 1972, in Osceola.

Jody received his education in Clarke Community Schools, graduating in 1990. He attended Southwestern Community College where he played baseball. Jody was first employed by Siemens Electric where he attained his tool and die certification. Most recently, he has been employed by Burlington Northern Railroad as an engineer and conductor.

On June 2, 2001, Jody married Michaela Rae Silver at Hickory Hills Park in Warren County.

Jody was a member of the NRA.

Jody is survived by his wife Michaela R. Coenen and son Noah of Osceola; parents, Raymond E. and Twyla Jean Coenen of Osceola; brother Justin (Misty) Coenen of Osceola; nephew Corbin Coenen of Osceola; half-brother Raymond E. Coenen Jr.; half-sisters, Tammie Arneson and Tonya Keltner; uncle Ronald Coenen of Tennessee; aunt Donna Hvode of Nampa, Idaho; aunt Luella (Curt) Marr of Sioux City; uncle Donald (Mary) Coenen of Sioux City; aunt Vera (Randy) Dunbar of Osceola; aunt Loura Lee Hammons of Norwalk; aunt Alice Piercy of Osceola; aunt Judy Martz of Osceola; mother-in-law Barb Silver of Independence, Missouri; father-in-law Michael Silver of Decatur City; brother-in-law Shane (Megan) Silver of Independence, Missouri; nephew Jacob; nieces, Jessi, Annie and Heylee of Independence, Missouri; sister-in-law Savannah (Michael) Ramirez of Independence, Missouri; niece Phoenix Ramirez; grandparents Bonnie and Maurice Silver; other relatives and many friends.

Jody was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Irene Hammons and Peter and Margaret Coenen; uncles, Billy Hammons, George Coenen, Albert Coenen and Herman Coenen.
