Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame honorees celebrated at the Iowa State Fair

A record breaking 125 Iowa 4-H volunteers from 91 counties were inducted into the 2015 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame on Sunday, Aug. 23, at the 4-H Exhibits Building at the Iowa State Fair.

Inductees or their representatives were presented a certificate by the Iowa 4-H Foundation as they were introduced on stage. A reception, sponsored by donors to the Iowa 4-H Foundation, was held shortly after the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame presentations.

The honorees were selected by their respective counties for their service and dedication to 4-H, contributions to the lives of 4-H’ers and the program. Inductees served as club leaders, fair board members, council members, fair judges, financial supporters, ISU Extension staff members and more.

The inductees have demonstrated dedication, encouragement, commitment and guidance to Iowa’s 4-H’ers through their years of service.

“When I look at all of the Hall of Fame inductees, I can’t help but marvel at the ripple effect from their contributions to the 4-H program,” said Albert Grunenwald, executive director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation. “We are honored to be able to recognize the efforts of these special people.”

Biographies of this year's inductees to the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame are available on the Iowa 4-H Foundation website, organized by year and by county. Photos of the inductees with Executive Director Albert Grunenwald can be found on the Foundation's Flicker page.
The Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame was established in 2002 to help commemorate the 100th anniversary of 4-H.

The Iowa 4-H Foundation provides the private financial resources to develop and deliver quality 4-H youth programs throughout the state of Iowa. These opportunities help young people enhance their ability to use critical thinking, leadership, communication, and social skills – tools that will give them a competitive edge in their future endeavors.
