New business: Committee chairs for next school year were discussed, and will be as follows:

The group looked over the current PTCO by-laws. It was decided that before changes are made, Carrie would check on which language, if any, is most necessary for legal reasons.

There was interest in having more of a presence at school registration this summer. There will be an informal meeting 5:30 p.m. June 1 to discuss plans for registration, as well as by-laws and goals.

Goals for next year were discussed. A list was started, and goals discussed were:

• Finding someone to fill a Hispanic outreach position

• Becoming a support for the Leader in Me process and the Leader in Me Family program

• Becoming involved in collecting Box Tops for Education

• Holding a Walk-A-Thon event and fundraiser

• Improve the image of PTCO through good public relations, showing that it is inclusive, and welcoming of all who want to participate

• Hosting a Scholastic Book Fair

• Creating a legacy closet and collect no longer needed Clarke apparel to give to those who would use it

• Planning the dates for events earlier so dates can be put on more district-wide, and community-wide calendars

• Think about having a “Doughnut with Dad” or a “Muffin with Mom” events where a parent can come into the school and have breakfast with their child

• Holding a Leader In Me Family Night, which includes a free family portrait and each family creating their own mission statement

• Being involved with the next business meet and greet type event held at the school, or, if none is planned, hosting one

There being no other business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m. The next meeting will be held in September, date to be determined.
