SWCC shooting team scores at Iowa Collegiate Invitational Championship

Iowa DNR held it’s Iowa Collegiate Invitational Championships recently, a 200-target event.

Southwestern Community College’s (SWCC) shooting team’s score was a 950/1000 to win the event. It was an extremely impressive score.

One of the SWCC squads shot all but two targets in the last round of the day for a 123 out of a possible 125. That means the team had three athletes shoot a perfect 25 while the other two squad members missed just one target each.

Ethan Jolliff won the men’s and HOA (High Over All) with a 195/200 and shooting a perfect 100/100 on the second round of the day.

Jonathan Cox and Heath Evans tied for second with a 190/200 and Cox won the shoot off. Shelby Woods was the high score for the women with a 187/200.

It was an awesome day for the SWCC shooting team bringing home most of the hardware from the shoot.

The teams in attendance were SWCC, Iowa Central, Iowa Lakes, NIACC, Iowa State, Hawkeye and a team with representation from DMACC.

The event was held at the Stockdale Gun Club in Ackley, Iowa.
