Police department accepting applications for new officer

The city of Osceola is now accepting applications for the position of police officer.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and meet Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) and city of Osceola standards. Currently-certified officers preferred, but not required, lateral entry accepted.

Testing, if required, will include written, physical, medical and psychological examinations, as well as extensive background information.

The city of Osceola conforms to federal guidelines for a drug free workplace.

Applications must be received or postmarked by 4 p.m. Friday, May 30.
