It’s time to run (or walk) for the red, white and blue.

Osceola Chamber Main Street is working with the Fourth of July Committee to offer a 5K/1K Firecracker Fun Run/Walk for all interested parties as a new event.

The event will start at the Expressions/Mosaic parking lot across from the fire station. Event registration and check-in will start at 6:30 a.m. The run will start at 7 a.m. with the walk starting immediately after. There will be guides along the route to help direct so people won’t get lost.

To participate, you just need to register and pay your event fee of $15/person to Osceola Chamber Main Street.

You can do this in advance or you can do it the day of the event. Everyone is welcome to attend.

If you want to run with strollers/wagons or walk with children, feel free to do so. Any child under age 10 is free. Just let Osceola Chamber Main Street know how many children under that age you have when you register. Fees will get people a Firecracker Fun Run sweatband!

The theme for the Fourth of July is “A Super Fourth of July!” Make sure to dress in your favorite superhero costume.

Osceola Chamber Main Street will be giving out awards for the following categories:

• Fastest walker with themed outfit

• Fastest runner with themed outfit

• Best family with themed outfit

• Best group with themed outfit

• Best decorated stroller/wagon

• Best overall with themed outfit
