Southern Iowa Trolley supports America’s veterans

CRESTON – All over the nation, veterans will be honored Nov. 11 for their service to our country. In Iowa, many of the state’s public-transit agencies will be offering free rides to veterans and their families to thank them for their sacrifice.

Southern Iowa Trolley, operating in Adair, Adams, Clarke, Decatur, Ringgold, Taylor, and Union counties, supports military families. To show that support, Southern Iowa Trolley will be offering free rides to veterans and their families on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.To request the free rides, veterans must call the dispatcher at 866-782-6571.

Transit Director Steve Bolie said, “Twelve of the 28 employees of the Southern Iowa Trolley, several customers and others in the communities we serve are veterans so we want to express our respect and gratitude for their service. Since transportation is our business, that is what we have to offer as an expression of that gratitude. We welcome all veterans and their families to use our services to go to local observances and other places on Nov. 11.”
