Published: Tuesday, July 23, 2013 11:02 a.m. CDT

The children and adults of First Christian Church (FCC) of Osceola invite the public to be part of their outreach to the children in Moore, Okla. They are joining their counterparts of First Christian Church (FCC) in Moore, Okla., to make sure all school children in Moore have the school supplies and backpacks they need to begin the school year.

The mission project is part of FCC’s Pandamania, Part 2, Vacation Bible School, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are decorating at least 50 drawstring backpacks to send to the children of FCC in Moore.

Children of FCC Moore will load the backpacks with much needed school supplies and deliver them to schools in Moore. In addition, all offering money collected on Aug. 3 will be sent to FCC Moore, designated to provide whatever supplies are still needed for the children there.

People are invited to be part of this Kids to Kids mission project. They may join this effort by:

• Bring or send a financial gift, designated for FCC Moore Kids to Kids project, to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 300 S. Main St., Osceola, IA 50213.

• Come and participate on Aug. 3. Call the church office for more information 641-342-2921, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. All ages are welcome.

• Drop off donations of new school supplies at the church. Art supplies are particularly appreciated.

If people have other creative ideas, call with suggestions. The church want this to be a community-to-community outreach.
