Lamoni 8, Murray 7

LAMONI — Lamoni jumped to a 4-1 lead and hung on to beat Murray Tuesday, 8-7.Murray starting pitcher Kate Patton injured a finger on her pitching hand in the third inning and did not return. Danielle McIntosh finished the game with nine strikeouts and no walks.

The game was tied 5-5 after five innings. Lenox scored one run each in the sixth and seventh, but Lamoni exploded for three runs in the bottom of the seenth on three hits, a hit batter and one error.

“We did not finish the game and they took advantage of us,” said Murray coach Danny Jensen.

Chellsea Jones had three hits and an RBI for Murray, which fell to 11-2. Cydney Hembry had two hits and an RBI. McIntosh, Jones and Oswald all had doubles.

SE Warren 9, Murray 5

ORIENT — Southeast Warren defeated Murray, 9-5 in the Orient-Macksburg Tournament on June 12, as Haley Seuferer was player of the game. SEW scored three runs in the first on a three-run homer by Haley Seuferer. The Warhawks scored five unearned runs in the third on two Murray errors.

Danielle McIntosh took the loss with nine strikeouts and nine hits allowed. Megan Oswald had three hits including a double. McIntosh and Chellsea Jones each had two hits. Deena Snyder drove in two runs.

Murray 12, Moulton-Udell 0

MURRAY — Kate Patton moved to 6-0 on a two-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks and an 11-hit attack supporting her in a 12-0 Murray victory over Moulton-Udell on June 13.

McKenzie McIntosh had the game-clinching RBI in the bottom of the third for the 12-run margin.

Cydney Hembry, Chellsea Jones and Megan Oswald each had two hits for Murray, now 5-1 in the Bluegrass Conference and 12-3 overall.

Collecting two RBI each were Hembry and Oswald.

Interstate 35 8, Nodaway Valley 2

TRURO — Jordan Williamson drove in four runs to help lead Interstate 35 past Nodaway Valley here on June 13, 8-2.

Williamson drove in the four runs despite going just 1-for-3 in the game with a double.

Brooke Brommel went 4-4 with three runs scored and on RBI. Caitlin Weeks also drove in a run for the Roadrunners.

Weeks also picked up the win in the pitching circle, giving up just two runs on six hits and striking out 12 batters.

Interstate 35 9, Lenox 1

LENOX — Interstate 35 improved to 12-2 for the season with a 9-1 win over Lenox here on Monday.

Caitlin Weeks picked up the win for the Roadrunners, striking out 15 and walking just one batter.

Lenox head coach Tom Shields called Weeks the “strongest pitcher” his team has faced this year.

Stats for Interstate 35 were unavailable at press time.

Central Decatur 5, Corning 1

LEON — Central Decatur defeated Corning 5-1 here on June 13, behind a strong pitching performance from senior Sadie Greene.

Greene went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out six, while walking just one.

Hallie Linhart went 1-for-3 with one run batted in during the win, while Mary Akers also finished with an RBI.

Caitlyn Saxton went 2-3 with one run scored and two stolen bases.

Central Decatur 3, Murray 2

LEON — Central Decatur picked up a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Murray here on Monday, despite Murray pitcher Danielle McIntosh giving up just two hits.

McIntosh struck out six and gave up just one earned run, as the Cardinals scored one run in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings to push ahead of the Mustangs, who had scored two runs in the top of the first inning.

Chellsea Jones was 1-3 with an RBI for Murray. The Mustangs collected just five hits in the game — one each by McKenzie Case, Jones, Megan Oswald, Kate Patton and Deena Snyder.

Stats for Central Decatur were unavailable at press time.
