Central Decatur 8, Mount Ayr 4

LEON — Central Decatur scored five runs in the first two innings, before tacking on three more in the fifth inning of an 8-4 win over Mount Ayr.

Junior Matt Marvin went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and drove in four runs for the Cardinals. Trevor Greenland finished 1-2 with two RBI. Bryson Durrow drew three walks, scored three runs and stole three bases.

Marvin earned the win on the hill, throwing five innings with four hits, four walks and 12 strikeouts.

Murray 14, Central Decatur 2

MURRAY — Murray picked up a 14-2 win over Central Decatur here on May 23.

Braydon Held picked up the win on the mound for the Mustangs, pitching five innings of two-hit ball with five walks and eight strikeouts.

Sam Rockhold drove in three runs and stole two bases in a 4-for-4 day at the plate. Austin Halls went 1-3 with three RBI, while Corey McCracken drove in two runs.

Cody Scroggie, Patrick Kilmer, Justin Jones, Held and Raymond Barlage each drove in one run for the Mustangs.

Jon Simmons drove in one run and stole two bases for the Cardinals. Daniel Weir also collected a hit for Central Decatur.

Joey Marcus threw 3 1/3 innings and gave up 11 runs on nine hits, four walks and three strikeouts. Dylan Gibson pitched the remainder of the game and struck out two.

Twin Cedars 11, Murray 1

MURRAY — Twin Cedars rolled to an 11-1 win over Murray here.

Dalton Winship drove in the lone Murray run. Cody Scroggie, Corey McCracken, Austin Halls and Sam Rockhold each had one hit for the Mustangs, while Halls stole two bases.

Halls took the loss on the mound, throwing 1 2/3 innings and allowing seven runs on four hits, three walks and one strikeout.

McCracken and Scroggie each saw action on the mound for the Mustangs, combining to give up four runs on seven walks and three strikeouts.

Van Meter 14, I-35 4

VAN METER — Interstate 35 couldn't keep pace with Van Meter as the Bulldogs picked up a 14-4 win over the Roadrunners here on Friday.

Mitch Morris, Tommy Bregar, Tyler Lester and Zach Goering each drove in one run for the Roadrunners. Lester finished with two hits.

Goering took the loss on the mound, going 3 2/3 innings, giving up six hits on six walks and three strikeouts.
