Curnes selected to receive scholarship

Agriland FS, Inc., a locally-owned cooperative, has announced Mason Curnes, son of Kelly and Jill Curnes of Osceola, has been awarded one of the $1,000 scholarships from the Agriland FS Foundation. Curnes plans to attend Southwestern Community College to study welding.

Seven scholarships were awarded across the Agriland FS geography to graduating high-school seniors planning to pursue a career in agriculture. The scholarships were established by the Agriland FS Foundation, a non-profit entity funded by shareholder contributions and the cooperative itself.

“This is a great opportunity for the Agriland FS Foundation to invest in the education of our future generation of leaders who are selecting agriculture as a career,” said John Knobloch, Agriland FS general manager. “We are extremely pleased to sponsor these seven young men and women that are so deserving.”

Agriland FS is a locally-owned cooperative serving the agronomy, seed, petroleum, and propane needs of growers throughout the southern one-third of Iowa and northern Missouri.
