Melcher-Dallas 3, Murray 2

MELCHER — Melcher-Dallas handed Murray its first loss on Sept. 11, 25-16, 26-24, 19-25, 20-25, 15-9. Murray falls to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

"There wasn't much good in our game tonight," said Murray coach Jerry Shields.

Cheyanne Ashby had a team-high 10 kills, and matched Hannah Barber with three blocks each. Barber had 16 digs and 15-16 serve receive, while Megan Oswald provided 10 digs and 21-28 serve receive.

Kate Patton set 22 assists andserved 17-18 with three aces. Barber was perfect in 16 serve attempts, matching Patton with three aces.

Murray 3, Moulton-Udell 0

MOULTON — Murray improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play in defeating Moulton-Udell Sept. 13, 25-14, 25-18, 25-20.

Cheyanne Ashby led the Lady Mustangs with 11 kills and served 9-9 with four aces. Megan Oswald had six kills.

Kate Patton had five kills while serving 15-16 with an ace and setting 20 assists. Ashley Rider and Hannah Barber each had eight digs and combined for 21 serve receptions. Barber served 12-13.

"We played a lot better tonight, a lot more successful at the net," said Murray coach Jerry Shields, whose team hosts Twin Cedars today.

Martensdale-St. Marys 3, Interstate 35 1

TRURO — Interstate 35 dropped to 3-9 for the season with a 3-1 loss to Martensdale-St. Marys here on Sept. 11.

Rachael Wiggins led the team with 19 kills for the match, while also collecting 10 digs and serving 9-of-10.

Abby Boyer finished with 11 kills, 14 assists, five digs and one ace on 22-23 serving.

Ellen Lupkes finished with seven kills, while Jordan Williamson had six kills.

Jenna Sandquist collected 22 assists and 15 digs, while serving 9-13 with two aces. Lupkes served 17-19 with one ace, and Williamson served 13-14 with one ace.

Brooke Brommel served 15-16.

Central Decatur 3, Southeast Warren 1

LIBERTY CENTER — Central Decatur defeated Southeast Warren 3-1 here on Sept. 11.

Hallie Linhart led the way for the Cardinals, finishing with 19 kills, 23 digs, two solo blocks and four aces on 14-16 serving.

Jeals Elsberry also had a strong all-around match, finishing with 15 assists, 10 digs and five aces on 15-17 serving.

Brittany Binning had two kills, 20 assists, 10 digs and two aces on a perfect 14-14 serving night.

Kassy Simmons collected nine kills with 17 digs and three aces on 21-22 serving.

Kate Havens finished with four kills, while Brittany Binning had two and Mary Akers finished with one.

Caitlyn Saxton had 19 digs with two aces on 9-9 serving. Binning and Akers each had two aces.
