PLEASANTVILLE — The Interstate 35 bats got going late in a 10-1 victory over Pleasantville here on June 7.
Sophomore first baseman Claire Bertrand led the Roadrunner offense, going 1-for-2 with a double and three RBI. Sophomore shortstop Jenna Sandquist was 2-3 with a double and two RBI.
Jordan Williamson, Olivia Sulentic and Caitlin Weeks each had two hits in the ballgame.
Weeks picked up the victory in the pitching circle, allowing just four hits and striking out four.

Central Decatur 3
LEON — Central Decatur dropped a close 5-3 battle with Class 1A No. 3 Martensdale-St. Marys here June 7.
Sadie Greene allowed just six hits and three earned runs while striking out two in the loss.
Lydia Martin and Hallee Linhart both went 2-for-4 in the game with a double, while the pair combined to score all three Central Decatur runs.
Green had two RBI in the loss.
I-35 13, Bedford 0
BEDFORD — Interstate 35 scored 11 runs in the first inning of a 13-0 victory over Bedford here Friday.
Jordan Williamson was 2-2 with a home run and three RBI, while Jenna Sandquist was 2-2 with a triple and two RBI.
Brooke Brommel finished 1-3 with a triple and two RBI. Caitlin Weeks and Megan Woods each collected two hits in the ballgame.
Weeks and Brittany Mease each drove in one run.
Weeks also picked up the victory, throwing a no-hitter with seven strikeouts.
Central Decatur 13, Nodaway Valley 8
LEON — Central Decatur scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and answered every Nodaway Valley rally in a 13-8 victory here Friday.
Sadie Greene picked up the win for the Cardinals, allowing eight runs, only three of which were earned, and striking out nine Wolverine batters.
Caitlyn Saxton led the Central Decatur offense, going 2-4 with two doubles, two stolen bases and three runs scored.
Lydia Martin had one RBI in the victory.
Greene, Brittany Binning and Morgon Kofoid all collected one hit for the Cardinals in the Pride of Iowa Conference victory.
Melcher-Dallas 9, Murray 5
MELCHER — Murray dropped a 9-5 ballgame to Melcher-Dallas here Friday.
Sophomore Kate Patton picked up the loss despite striking out eight batters. Patton also hit a triple in the game.
Ashley Rider and Deena Snyder each finished with two hits for the Mustangs, while Haley Hodges drove in one run.
“It was an error-filled game, and they had a good third and fourth inning,” head coach Danny Jensen said. “We did have the bases loaded in the fifth inning, and could not get a hit. We left the bases loaded again in the seventh. Overall, we stranded 10.”
Murray fell to 3-8 on the season with the loss.

Bedford 4
LEON — Murray defeated Bedford 14-4 in the first game of the Central Decatur Tournament here Saturday.
Kate Patton picked up the win for the Mustangs, giving up zero hits and striking out five before being relieved by Shelby Myers.
Patton collected two hits, including a double, while Haley Hodges added two doubles and two RBI. Madison Gonseth and Hannah Barber each collected two hits and three RBI, while Deena Snyder had a double and two RBI.
Central Decatur 13, Lamoni 1
LEON — Central Decatur scored eight runs in the first inning of a 13-1 victory over Lamoni in the first game of the Central Decatur Tournament here Saturday.
Junior catcher Caitlyn Saxton led the Cardinal offense, going 2-3 with a triple, one home run, two runs scored and four RBI.
Sadie Greene went 2-3 with a double and three RBI, while also picking up the victory in the pitching circle, allowing just one hit through four innings.
Kassy Simmons also went 2-3 for the Cardinals, while Morgon Kofoid, Mary Akers and Lydia Martin all drove in one run apiece.
Murray 12, Lamoni 2
LEON — The Murray Mustangs picked up a 12-2 win over Lamoni in the second game of the Central Decatur Tournament here Saturday.
Kate Patton had another strong pitching performance, striking out five and giving up just one earned run in the victory.
Deena Snyder, Haley Hodges and Hannah Barber each collected two hits, with Snyder and Hodges each getting a double. Ashley Rider and Megan Oswald also had doubles in the game.
Hodges drove in two runs, while Caitlyn Weir, Snyder, Oswald, Madison Gonseth and Barber each drove in one run.
Bedford 8, Central Decatur 6
LEON — Central Decatur’s comeback attempt fell short in an 8-6 loss to Bedford in the second game of the Central Decatur Tournament here Saturday.
Brittany Binning led Central Decatur’s offense, going 2-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Caitlyn Saxton, Sadie Green and Kassy Simmons all drove in one run apiece.
Maitlyn Hardee picked up the loss in the pitching circle, throwing 1 2/3 innings . Hanna Mendenhall pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief, and Mary Akers threw one inning of relief.
Murray 6, Central Decatur 3
LEON — Murray defeated Central Decatur, 6-3, to take the championship at the Central Decatur tournament here Saturday, giving Murray it’s first tournament title since 2008.
Kate Patton pitched a four-hitter with four strikeouts in the victory.
Deena Snyder collected two hits with one RBI, while Patton and Caitlyn Weir each drove in two runs.
“We had a great fourth inning, scoring five on two outs with four big hits and two CD errors,” head coach Danny Jensen said. “We were shut down by Sadie Greene. She had a very good changeup. We played outstanding defense. Three wins gives us the championship, our first since 2008. Our young team had a very good day of softball.”
Caitlyn Saxton hit a solo home run for the Cardinals, while Brittany Binning went 2-3 with a triple, one RBI and two runs scored. Morgon Kofoid also drove in one run for Central Decatur.
