Clarke baseball goes through rough week

Clarke baseball fell to 2-16 on the season following a week of games that included losses to Centerville, Knoxville, Pella and Davis County.

Clarke dropped games of 11-4 and 11-2 to Centerville on June 7.

In the first game against Centerville, Dylan Diveney led the Indian offense by going 3-4 with a run scored. Jacob Redman went 2-3 in the game.

Mitch Lampe, Tobi Bailey and Colin Morris each drove in one run apiece.

Diveney picked up the loss on the pitching mound, allowing 13 hits and striking out four.

Andrew Taylor picked up the loss in the second game against Centerville, allowing 15 hits and striking out four.

Diveney went 2-2 with a double and an RBI and a stolen base. Lampe picked up the only other Clarke hit in the ballgame, while Matt Blanchard drove in the other Indian run.

Clarke then dropped a 14-4 game at Knoxville on Saturday at the Knoxville Tournament

Walker Adams went 1-4 in the ballgame with two RBI. Taylor was 1-3 with one RBI. David May and Morris each collected one hit.

Skyler Lane picked up the loss on the mound, throwing two innings and giving up nine runs on seven hits. Devin Wills pitched three innings of relief.

Clarke fell 15-0 to Pella on Saturday in the Knoxville Tournament.

Bailey picked up the loss, giving up nine hits while striking out two.

Adams was 2-2 in the ballgame, while Taylor, Redman and May each picked up one hit.

Clarke then suffered a 9-0 loss to Davis County on Monday.

Lampe picked up the loss, giving up eight runs in four innings of work, while striking out two.

Blanchard recorded the only hit of the game for the Indians.

Clarke travels to Chariton on Wednesday, before hosting the Subway Tournament on Saturday.
