Finally, the weather has improved and farmers are busy harvesting. The trees are beautiful fall colors.
Gary and Vickie Weakland of Boone visited her parents, Ted and Normalee Quayle on Oct. 12. They also attended the funeral for Vickie's Grandmother Edna Quayle. Lanny Quayle of Adel was here.
Allan and Patty Worden of Loveland, Colo. were guests in Charles Pearcy Home. Allan and Patty have not been back to Iowa since Sept. 27, 2008. This is their first wedding anniversary. Their new address is 617 West 8th Street, Loveland, CO 80537. Alan Worden's sister, Terri had her 55th birthday Oct. 10. Terri's Address is 130 Washington St., Loveland, CO 80537.
Donny Pearcy recently turned 41. Carolyn Whitham recently had a birthday. Her address is 125 E Washington, Osceola, IA 50213.
Our sympathy goes out to the Jerry Quayle family for the loss of his mother Edna Quayle. Jerry's sister, Cindy Quayle came from Mississippi by plane. Cindy is Leo Quayle's wife. Leo is deceased. Edna left good memories with us Weldon people.
Gareth and Connie Deemer and Carla Deemer went to Nashville this past week to visit their son, Duane Deemer. Duane had a big birthday last Sunday.
Connie and Ann Deemer's dad, Newton Gray passed away Oct. 12. Our sympathy goes out to the family. Newton Gray lived in Weldon at one time. Then he moved to Van Wert. Newton Gray was 84. His funeral was Saturday, Oct. 17. Graveside Services were at Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni.

Community Center Open House and Stock the Kitchen Shower: Sunday, Oct. 18 1-3 p.m. Cookies and ice cream will be served. The community is invited to view the kitchen remodeling and visit with neighbors. A free will offering or the donation of supplies to stock the community center will be appreciated. Supplies needed are: paper towels, garbage sacks (kitchen & 30 gallon), toilet paper, paper plates & cups,coffee, ice tea, pump hand soap,hand soap refills, dish soap,and cleaning products ( toilet bowl,glass,and floor) kitchen supplies
