Helen Jo Marker

Helen Jo Marker, 79, was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Lucas County to James Benjamin and Avanelle Snodgrass. She married Kenneth Marker on June 1, 1947; they had 60 wonderful years together. After graduating from Simpson College in 1946, Helen taught school for nine years. She then went to nursing school in Centerville and was a surgical nurse for many years. They were also blessed with a special grandson, Brandon. Helen went home to be with her Lord on March 26, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents; baby brother, Bobbie; sister, Katie Ann; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Snodgrass. Helen is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Marker; son, Larry (Belinda) Reilly; daughter, Dawn Fortier; six grandchildren; sisters, Maxine (Ralph) Pennington of Magnolia, Texas, and Mary (Harold) Culbertson of Indianola; brothers, Jim (Helen) Snodgrass of Mount Pleasant, Gene (Geri) Snodgrass of Indianola, Don Snodgrass of Carlisle; and nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbors and friends.
