No citations were issued after an accident 9:53 p.m. April 19 on U.S. Highway 69.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report Tyson Joesaph Rumley, 33, of Leon, driving a 2020 Toyota struck a deer that was crossing the road with the right front of the vehicle after traversing a lefthand curve. Rumley’s vehicle came to a rest on the southbound shoulder of the road.

Estimated damage was $6,000 to Rumley’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 3:55 p.m. April 27 on Mormon Trail.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Dusty Wayne Hamilton, 40, of Weldon, driving a 2013 Hyundai struck a dog belonging to Whitney Nicole Roozenboom, of Weldon, after two dogs ran out of the ditch in front of the vehicle on Mormon Trail.

Estimated damage was $1,500 to Hamilton’s vehicle.

Faith Elisabeth Dassie, 18, of Le Claire, was cited for failure to maintain control after an accident 1:26 a.m. April 30 southbound on Interstate 35 milemarker 29.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Dassie, driving a 2008 Ford swerved to miss something she saw run into the road and struck a cable barrier.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to the Iowa DOT’s cable barrier and $6,000 to Dassie’s vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 5:45 p.m. April 25 on 288 Avenue.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Sawyer Steenhoek, 26, of Chariton, driving a 2013 MCCO tractor struck the bridge sign and railing in the 1900 block of 288th with the implement being towed by the tractor. Steenhoek’s vehicle broke six upright posts and hand railing on the bridge along with one sign post.

Estimated damage was $1,5000 to Steenhoek’s vehicle.
