Robert Leo Belieu, son of Harry Thomas Belieu and Viola Celestine Adair Belieu was born June 28, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa and passed from this life Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, Iowa at 84 years of age.

Robert received his education at Lincoln High School in Des Moines and later attended Des Moines Area Community College. Robert served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War attaining the rank of SGT.

He was united in marriage to Wava Wynona Belieu on Jan. 3, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Indianola. They were the parents of four children, Jeff, Mark, Franklin and Misty.

Robert worked as a Maintenance Repairman for Des Moines Waterworks for over thirty-five years. He was a member of Medora United Methodist Church .

Those relatives who preceded Robert in death were his father, Harry Belieu, mother, Viola Celestine Belieu, son, Franklin Robert Belieu, wife, Wava Wynona Belieu, sister, Darlene Belieu, brother, John Belieu, brother, Harry Belieu, brother, Harold Belieu, sister-in-law, Ilene Belieu, sister-in-law, Darlene Belieu, sister-in-law, Phyllis Belieu.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory; son, Jeff (Karen) Belieu of Indianola, IA, son, Mark (Mary) Belieu of New Virginia, IA, daughter, Misty (George) Hutton of Truro, IA, grandchildren, Joshua Belieu of Des Moines, IA, Kaitlyn Belieu of Des Moines, IA, Sean Belieu of Minnesota, Wava Norris of St. Charles, IA, Lacy Hutton of St. Charles, IA, brother, Dale Belieu of Des Moines, IA, sister-in-law, Janet Belieu of Des Moines, IA as well as other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held at New Virginia Cemetery, 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021 Pastor Amy Johnson officiating.

Social distancing and the use of masks will be required. If you are unable to attend the service in person, a live stream will be available at www.kalefuneralhome.com on Robert’s tribute wall beginning at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday.
