In the unofficial Clarke County election with 5,896 registered voters the total number of ballots cast was 4,694 with 2,579 of those being absentee and/or early and mail in ballots. 2,115 Clarke voters took to the polls Tuesday.
In the race for Clarke County Supervisors in District 1 Dean Robins won with 2,483 votes. Kathleen Johnson had 1,422 and Tyler Jackson had 537. District 2 candidate Larry Keller was uncontested and regained his seat with 3,329 votes. District 3 winner was Austin Taylor with 2,715 votes while Marvin McCann had 1,624.
Janice White ran uncontested for Clarke County Auditor and regained her seat with 3,673 votes. Rob Kovacevich ran uncontested for Clarke County Sheriff and regained his seat with 3,559 votes.
The Doyle Township Trustee is Troy Updike with 107 votes. The Franklin Township Trustee is Ellen Danner with 83 votes. The Fremont Township Trustee is Tom Carson with 248 votes. The Green Bay Township Trustee is Darwin Downing with 142 votes. The Jackson Township Trustee is John Carson with 107 votes. The Knox Township Trustee is L. Lynn George with 124 votes. The Liberty Township Trustee is David Sereg with 192 votes. The Madison Township Trustee is Ryan Kirk with 51 votes. The Osceola Township Trustee is Janene Nelson with 206 votes. The Troy Township Trustee is David Flaherty with 111 votes. The Ward Township Trustee is Ralph Miller with 167 votes. The Washington Township Trustee is yet to be announced with 47 write-in votes but no candidate filed.
The County Public Hospital Trustees are Amy Lampe with 3,128 votes, Terry Jacobsen with 2,793 votes and Kevin Klemesrud with 2,426 votes.
The Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioner is Jeff Pollard with 2,647 votes, Haylee Pontier with 2,128 votes and Barry Mateer with 1,968.
The County Agricultural Extension Council is Randy Barnard with 2,799 votes, Wendy Short with 2,770, Carrie Benda with 2,568 and Paula Hein with 2,494.
In the votes for retaining supreme court justices Thomas Waterman had 2,434 yes votes and 1,093 no votes. Susan Christensen had 2,510 yes votes and 1,012 no votes. Edward Mansfield had 2,336 yes votes and 1,136 no votes. Christopher McDonald had 2,393 yes votes and 1,067 no votes.Sharon Soorholtz Greer had 2,352 yes votes and 1,042 no votes. Thomas Bower had 2,324 yes votes and 1,047 no votes. David May had 2,393 yes votes and 1,002 no votes. Julie Schumacher had 2,407 yes votes and 966 no votes. Elisabeth Reynoldson had 2,908 yes votes and 974 no votes. Monty Franklin had 2,730 yes votes and 885 no votes.
U.S. Representative District 2 saw Mariannette Miller-Meeks earn 2,707 votes and Rita Hart had 1,637. State Representative District 27 saw Joel Fry earn 3,159 votes and Cody Dilliner have 1,283. State Senator District 14 was Amy Sinclair running uncontested with 3,719 votes. The U.S. Senator race had Joni Ernst with 2,902 votes, Theresa Greenfield with 1,520 votes. Rick Stewart had 119 votes. Suzanne Herzog had 60 votes.
President Donald Trump had 3,140 Clarke County votes. Joe Biden had 1,466. Roque Rocky De La Fuente had 1 vote. Don Blankenship had 3. Ricki Sue King had 1 vote. Howie Hawkins had 3 votes. Jo Jorgensen had 34 votes. Brock Pierce had 1 vote. Kanye West had 8 votes.
Public Measure 1- Constitutional Convention had 3,160 no votes and 851 yes votes.
