Area volleyball roundup: Clarke takes one, CD continues skid

Clarke 2, Central Decatur 1

Clarke came out on top of Central Decatur Thursday night, winning one of two games played at its home triangular.

The Lady Indians won the first set 25-15, lost the second set 17-25 and then took the third set over CD 15-9.

Kiaya Dunbar led in kills for Clarke with seven on 27 attack attempts. Dunbar also had six digs.

Kaitlyn Halsband had six kills and was 5 of 6 at serve. Nicole Barnard led in digs with seven and Ali Henry was 13 of 15 from serve (86.7%), the most successful from the service stripe.

No stats for Central Decatur were available at time of press.

Centerville 2, Clarke 0

Clarke lost the other game of its home triangular Thursday night, losing to Centerville 2-0.

Clarke fell 15-25 and 21-25 in both sets, falling for the sixth straight time to the Big Reds.

Henry and Emma Bolton finished with five assists. Dunbar and Sophia Hicks had four kills each.

Tory Henry was the leader in digs with 12. Halsband finished with three kills, and Dunbar also had eight digs.

Centerville 2, Central
Decatur 0

Central Decatur lost both sets to the tune of 17-25 and 25-25, with the Big Reds completing the sweep of the triangular.

River Hamaker and Addiston Graham both were the kills leaders for CD, posting a combined four kills (two each).

Mara Dykes had three assists and four digs. Hamaker blocked two shots and had one dig. Carlee Hamilton led the team with 11 digs and Hallee Hamilton went 10-for-11 from serve.

Both losses at the Clarke triangular makes it five in a row for the Cardinals, bringing them to 2-5 as of Monday.
