Monica was born in Murray Feb. 20, 1935. She moved to Osceola as a child and graduated from Osceola High School in 1953.

Shortly after high school, Monica married Lyle Goodrich Oct. 30, 1953. Together they built a life in Indianola.

A woman of many talents, Monica held a number of jobs over her life, including switchboard operator, soda jerk and manufacturing at Kayot campers. She found her calling, however, as a realtor for Iowa Realty in Indianola. She sold many homes in her 30+ year career, becoming a familiar face all around town.

Through her work she formed many lasting friendships throughout the Indianola area. In addition to her work and raising her four children, Monica was active with the Cub Scouts and helped with bible classes at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

In her spare time, Monica enjoyed crossword puzzles, Tom Jones, as well as cooking; her pan-fried chicken and gravy was legendary. She loved both dogs and horses — a trait passed on to many of her children and grandchildren.

She was an avid traveler, reader and member of her church. She loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother; she never let a holiday pass without treats and gifts for the whole family. She was a strong, generous, loving person and she will be greatly missed by countless friends and family.

Monica was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; her parents, Clyde and Edith; her sisters, Evelyn Clayton and Bessie (Harry) Davis.

She is survived by her children: Rod (Karen) Goodrich, Richard Goodrich, Ronald Goodrich and Marilyn Reinholdt; grandchildren: Angela Goodrich, Chris Goodrich, Julie Goodrich, Sara (Zach) Gillen, Kyle Goodrich and Amanda (Nate) Ostrander; great-grandchildren: Sean Craven, Reece Goodrich, Riley Goodrich, Bristol Ostrander, Lincoln Ostrander and Beckett Gillen; her sister Rosie (Delmer) Mika.
