Duane Kistler

Duane Eugene Kistler, was born January 31, 1952 in Osceola, Iowa and died Wednesday, August 19, 2020at 68 years of age.

Duane grew up in Osceola and attended Clarke Community High School.  He worked at the truck shop in Osceola, his love was farming.  He farmed his own ground and also help the Hall’s and the Diehl’s with custom work.  He loved spending time with family and friends and having coffee daily at the Family Table.  Duane raised cattle and enjoyed John Deere tractors.  His grandchildren meant a lot to him.  His newest grandchild Mallory had an extra special place in his heart and they had an unbreakable bond.

Duane was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Gene and Hazel McWilliams, parents, John and Nona Kistler, sister, Trish Phillips, infant sister, and wives, Joanie Kistler and Sheila Kistler.

Duane leaves to cherish his memory; son, Travis (Sherry) Kistler of Osceola, IA, son, Cale (Cynthia) Kistler of Lake City, IA, daughter, Laurie Phillips of Osceola, IA, daughter, Lisa (Mike) Ellis of St. Charles, IA, daughter, Melissa (Michael) Kistler of Osceola, IA, brother, Gary (Roberta) Kistler, brother, Dale (Mary) Kistler, sister, Debbie (Bob McBride) Kistler and brother-in-law, Marty Phillips, all of Osceola, IA of Osceola, IA; grandchildren, Tanner Sibert, Samantha Ellis, Colton Phillips, Sheldon Ellis, Logan Phillips, Arianna Kistler, Dominik Kistler, Jake Kistler, Elexis Kistler, Lucas Colburn, Mallory Kistler, Linda Baker Kistler; 3 step-grandchildren; former wife Linda Baker Kistler; several nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home - Osceola, Wednesday August 26, 2020 at 10:30 am with Pastor Dwayne Henrichs officiating.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Kale Funeral Home.

The family and funeral home asks that anyone in attendance at the visitation or funeral service please follow social distancing guidelines.  The use of face coverings are  required. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery
