Scott Rodger Busick, son of Marvin Rodger Busick and Vicky Kirk Mateer was born July 6, 1963 in Rolla, Missouri and passed from this life, suddenly, Friday, February 21, 2020 at his home in Murray, Iowa at 56 years of age.

Scott graduated from Murray High School. While in high school he worked for Con Smith at Amoco in Osceola and the Lil’ Duffer. Following high school he completed diesel mechanic training school in Lincoln, NE. Following graduation he worked for BRB Construction. He returned to work for his family agriculture business for many years, and he most recently worked for Reynolds Feed Service.

Scott was a very caring and loving person. He was always there for anyone who needed him. He was elected to two different terms as mayor of Murray and served several terms on the Murray City Council. Scott was active with the Clarke County Reservoir, starting when he was in high school being a representative for Murray High School. He was a Boy Scout leader and enjoyed the many camping trips. He advised many youth over the years and was a caring friend to many. Family was his greatest love. He had a special love for his nieces and nephews and enjoyed anytime he could spend with them. Scott enjoyed playing with his dogs, Abby and Sally. He also enjoyed coon hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He will be greatly missed.

A brother, Danny Joe Busick, and grandparents, Gerdon and Ruby Kirk, Russell and Lorene Busick, and Gene and Ruth Mateer; Aunt Colleen Williams preceded Scott in death.

Scott leaves to cherish his memory; his parents,Vicky and Darrell Mateer of Osceola, IA,  Marvin and Pat Busick of Olathe, KS; brother, Shane (Polly) Busick of Murray, IA, brother, Brian Mateer of Osceola, IA; sister, Elizabeth (Jim) Blubaugh of Chariton, IA; sister-in-law, Teresa (Don) Pinard of Osceola, IA; nephews & nieces, Jacob & Joshua Busick, Sydney Busick, Ella & Emma Mateer; great nieces, Marlee & Lily Busick, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February, 26, 2020 with Pastor Dwayne Henrichs officiating.

Visitation will be on Tuesday with family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Tuesday evening at Kale Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Murray Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Murray First Responders or the Murray Volunteer Fire Department
