Central Decatur 57, Lenox 17

LEON – Central Decatur rolled through Lenox 57-17 in the Class 1A Region 7 tournament to pick up its 10th consecutive win Tuesday.

The Cardinals allowed nine points in the first half, taking a 33-9 point lead at halftime. The Cardinals didn't allow a point in the third quarter and didn't let up to move to the semifinals of the Region 7 tournament.

Riley Bell put up 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the team-high in each. Maizee Lindsey scored nine points for the Cardinals.

Van Meter 44, Interstate 35 25

VAN METER – Interstate 35's season came to a close with a 44-25 loss to Van Meter Tuesday.

The Roadrunners were in a hole early, trailing 16-3 after the first quarter. Scoring stayed low for both teams the remainder of the game. I-35 scored double-digits on time, the fourth quarter with 11 points.

Kaitlyn Morris put up 14 points for the team-high. Josie McCuddin scored six points, recording two blocks and two assists.

Martensdale-St. Marys 66, Murray 32

MARTENSDALE – Martensdale-St. Marys rolled through Murray with a 66-32 win Thursday.

Through the first quarter, Martensdale held a 25-0 lead. Another 25-point second quarter ballooned the lead to 50-15 at halftime, and Murray never recovered.

Hannah Paschke led the Lady Mustangs with nine points. Jayda Chew put up eight points and Destiny Ashby tallied five.

Murray 52, Mormon Trail 20

GARDEN GROVE – Murray blew past Mormon Trail 52-20 Tuesday to end its regular season on a high note Tuesday, Feb. 11.

The defense led the way for the Lady Mustangs, holding Mormon Trail under double-digit scoring in all four quarters. Murray's offense put up 27 points in the first half and added 19 in the the third quarter.

"Ended the regular season with a victory at Mormon Trail," said Murray head coach Jerry Shields. "Hannah Paschke had a terrific evening with a nice double/double."

Paschke scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for a double-double and led the team in both categories.

Murray 44, Moulton-Udell 43

MURRAY – Murray pulled out a 44-43 nail-biting win over Moulton-Udell Friday, Feb. 7.

The Lady Mustangs honored their two seniors in the final home game of the season – Destiny Ashby and Bailey Frederick.

The game down to the final few seconds of the fourth quarter, with Murray leading 44-40. Moulton-Udell made a 3-pointer with two seconds on the clock.

"Luckily we had a four-point lead," said Shields.

Ashby scored six points and Frederick put up four in their final home game.

Moravia 42. Murray 41

MORAVIA – Murray lost in a one-point game, falling 42-41 to Moravia Thursday, Feb. 6.

With a close game throughout the first three quarters, things came down to the final 30 few minutes in the fourth quarter.

"[We] had a three-point lead with just over 2 minutes to go, when they got an offensive rebound and a put back with a foul to tie," said Shields. "We [missed] a shot, they [made] a shot to take a two-point lead with 9.8 seconds to go. We got fouled with 2.8 seconds, making the front end of a 1-and-1 and lost another close battle."

Teryn Shields scored 10 points with seven rebounds. Jayda Chew recorded five steals with four assists.
