Girls basketball roundup: Murray loses big, I-35 wins on the road

Mount Ayr 74, Murray 19

MOUNT AYR – The Murray Mustangs were blown out by Mount Ayr Monday night, losing 74-19.

After the first quarter it was 23-4 in favor of the Raiderettes, swinging the game heavily in favor of the hometown team. To close out the game Murray did not score a point in the fourth quarter, going scoreless 11-0 in the final eight minutes of play.

Jayda Chew was the leading scorer with seven points.

Knoxville 66, Clarke 23

KNOXVILLE – Knoxville beat Clarke 66-23 Thursday night in Knoxville.

Clarke stats were not available at press time.

Interstate 35 37, Madrid 32

MADRID – Interstate 35 got back in the win column Thursday night, winning over Madrid 37-32.

I-35's Jaliyah White was the leading scorer with 17 points in the win. I-35 had a double digit scoring quarter once, scoring 13 points in the second quarter to Madrid's eight.

Josie McCuddin scored eight points while picking up six rebounds. Carli McCuddin had six points. The McCuddin's both had six rebounds.
