Merle Gall

Merle Raymond "Buck" Gall, son of Merle Lorimore Gall and Elma Irene (Brown) Gall was born September 17, 1929, in Iowa and passed from this life Monday, January 13, 2020, at 90 years of age. Buck received his education in country schools in and around Polk & Warren Counties. Buck served his country during the Korean War attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.   He was united in marriage to Phyllis Joyce (Leih) Gall on December 1, 1950, at Des Moines, IA and four children blessed this union. Throughout his lifetime, Buck worked as a farmer until his retirement in the mid 1990's, living in Clarke and Warren Counties and most recently in Lucas.  Buck enjoyed restoring old tractors and was a member of Clarke County Old Iron Club.  Buck also enjoyed 35 years of fishing trips to Minnesota and traveling the western United States.  His most recent trip was last summer when he traveled to Minnesota, fishing with his children, Rod, Joyce and Jim. Those relatives who preceded Buck in death were his father, Merle Lorimore Gall; mother, Elma Irene Gall; infant daughter, Jeannette Gall; wife, Phyllis Joyce Gall; sister, Lucille McCampbell; sister-in-law, Mary Heller; brothers-in-law, Edward Leih and Cleo McCampbell. Buck leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Joyce (Randal) Wildin of St. Charles, IA; son, Rod (Julie) Gall of Norwalk, IA; son, Jim (Valarie) Gall of Norwalk, IA; Special Earth Angel, Bev Dixon and families of Lucas, IA; grandchildren, Catherine, Carmen (Chad), JoAnn (Jon), Lindsay (Kyle), Christy (Matt), Kellie (Cassidy) and Cody; great-grandchildren, Alec, Cale, Olivia, Danika, Andrew, Addisyn, Austynn, Collins, Landry and Luke.  Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, LaVaughn Hudson of Bois D'Arc, MO, Karma Nelson of Ft. Dodge, IA and Betty Leih of Indianola, IA;  brothers-in-law, Bob  Hudson of Bois O'Arc, MO, Tom Heller of Des Moines, IA, Gary Nelson of Ft. Dodge, IA as well as other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Thursday January 16, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. with Hearold McElwee officiating. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m.. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Kale Funeral Home.
