Area girls basketball roundup: Clarke, I-35 drop games

Central Decatur 70, East Union 28

AFTON – Central Decatur rolled over the East Union Eagles, winning 70-28 Tuesday night.

Maizee Lindsey, who was limited over the last three weeks due to an injury, returned to form in a 24 point night on 8 of 12 shooting from 3-point range.

Riley Bell had a double-double, scoring 10 while grabbing 12 rebounds. Alaina Applegate had 11 points.

Murray 43, Melcher-Dallas 34

MURRAY – Murray got back in the win column Tuesday night, beating Melcher-Dallas 43-34.

Bailey Frederick was the team leader in points with 10, all of which came from free throws.

Kinzee Eggers had nine points and seven rebounds. Jayda Chew led the team with nine steals, scoring six points.

Interstate 35 58, Southeast Warren 33

TRURO – I-35 beat Southeast Warren Monday night, winning 58-33.

A 24-3 third quarter was the decider for the Roadrunners as they pulled away for their third win of the season.

Carli McCuddin was the leader in points with 13. She also led in rebounds with seven.

Ainsley Maske had 10 points and five steals.

Van Meter 56, Interstate 35 52

TRURO – I-35 lost to Van Meter Tuesday night, losing 56-52.

A 13-3 first quarter for Van Meter helped give it an upperhand on the Roadrunners through the back half of the game. I-35 rallied late with a 17-13 fourth quarter, but it was not enough

Jaliyah White led the tam in points with 16. She also led in rebounds (seven) and assists (three).

Cali Garner had the most steals with six.

Chariton 47, Clarke 37

CHARITON – Clarke lost to Chariton Tuesday night in a 47-37 final.
