Martin Wayne Campbell, 62, of New Virginia, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A celebration of life service will be held from 4-6:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. Interment of ashes will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Marty was born on March 7, 1957 in Lyons, Kansas to Wayne and Barbara (Hatcher) Campbell. Martin graduated from Lyon High School in 1975. He went on to graduate from North Central Kansas Vocational Tech receiving honorable mention. Marty moved to Nebraska in 1986, and later to New Virginia in 2003. Marty married Kellie Reagan in 1987 until her passing in 2011. United by their love of horses and animals, Marty and Paula Schultz fell in love and were married on December 4, 2012. Marty and Paula were not only married, but they were truly best friends. Marty was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Martin loved his horses, dogs and animals and was a cowboy at heart. He was a stubborn hardworking man. Marty was a welder for 43 years, and was a very proud member of Local 798. He not only worked hard as a welder, but he had a passion for the work he did. He loved going on trail rides and being in the outdoors with a cup of coffee and a campfire. Martin would also curl up in the recliner and watch the History Channel or old westerns; his favorites being Lonesome Dove and Tombstone. Marty is survived by his wife Paula Campbell; father, Wayne Campbell; children, Jenny Duchene, Travis Reagan, Justin Reagan, Jordan(Schultz)McCloney, Kayla Schultz; and grandchildren, Logan, Leah, Riley, and Ella. Marty was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann (Hatcher) Campbell, sister, Teresa (Campbell) Bryant, and his first wife Kellie.
