Osceola Lions Club meeting

Want to give service to your community? The Osceola Lions Club would like to invite you and your friends to an informational meeting 7 p.m. Oct. 22 aat Clarke County Hospital Administration Biolding meeting room located on the east side of South Fillmore across from Clarke county Hospital. This will be a short meeting on the functions of the club and how you can become a part of it. Light refreshments will be served. Through the years, the Lions Club has helped the community in many ways, including building shelter houses at our parks, installing park benches, screening children’s eye sight, helping fund rodeos, scholarships for high school graduates, youth camps, and educational trips. The club helps with “Toys for Tots” at Christmas, the food pantry, and many other service projects. The club strives for community betterment, civic improvement, safety, and citizenship. The club helps fund boys’ and girls’ clubs, organizations, education, health and welfare, and sight and hearing conservation. Club finances are funded through fund raising activities such as the Lions 4th of July food trailer.

The newly elected Osceola Lions Club officers are: Martha White, President; Don Waltz, Vice-President; Marge Wambold, Secretary; Dave Gorsline, Treasurer.
