January has been a very cold winter month. As a friend at Osceola Senior Center said, “It is one day closer to spring”
Betty Savely is home from the hospital in Des Moines and is now staying with her niece in Muscatine.
Judy Jenkins of Weldon is now home after recovering from back surgery.
Gareth and Connie Deemer just had their 59th anniversary in January.
Viola Jones of Van Wert is spending winter with her son Jerry in Conyer, Georgia. Viola fell and broke her left arm above the elbow and is now in a cast to the shoulder for eight weeks.
A $25.00 memorial gift was given to the Weldon Community Center in memory of Chris Mason.
Pam and Joe Sitzman left their puppy “Gracy” with Kathy Mason as they went to get their son, Tony Sitzman to stay home for a while.
Jamie Miller visited Betty Wallace recently. They sure had a good visit.
Mr. and Mrs. G P (Bud) Hook are great grandparents of Jacob and Anisa Cohagon’s new baby girl born Jan. 10, named Nevaeh in Galesburg, Ill. The grandparents are Bambi and Denny Cohagon of Galesburg, Ill. Bambi is the daughter of Bud and Connie Hook. Bambi is a nurse in the hospital.
Wanda Gorsline of Osceola has been in the Clarke County Hospital and has had recent surgery but is on the mend and home now.
Doreen Nish has been under the weather but is now feeling better.
Terri McBroom cannot get out of her home during this bad weather so her son Seth and his dog “Pepsi” keep her company. They appreciate the church and friends coming to visit now and then.
Tom Murrane, a prominent cattle feed yard operator, near Weldon died Jan. 21, 2010.
Interment was at Willow Cemetery, Greene County. Our thoughts and sympathy go out to his family
