There will be another statue for our angel

To the Editor:

We once had a beautiful little girl but we didn’t get a chance to spend much time with her. After five years she was gone.

Just like everyone who loses a loved one we purchased a small monument to mark where she lays. At the same time a small statue of an angel was placed next to the stone but soon it was taken.

Five years ago, before her father passed, we put another angel on the stone, but before Memorial Day this May 28, 2009, it too was taken.

I guess some people don’t understand when parents lose a child they will never be able to see them smile or hear them laugh again, when they have a birthday or celebrate Christmas, all of the fun times. So they keep doing things to show they still love them and they are always in their thoughts.

I hope you are happy about taking this small thing, just something that might have made a child happy.

There will be another statue because we thought our daughter was an angel.

Clarke County Landfill Commission voted to proceed with a transfer station to replace the landfill after it reaches capacity, but Osceola City Council hasn't given its support for the idea. What do you think is the best option for the city of Osceola?
A transfer station would be most convenient, even if it comes at slightly higher costs than direct hauling and keeps the city in the 28E agreement.
If direct hauling to Madison County Landfill or Metro Waste Authority is the cheapest option, it's the best choice despite some inconvenience to those who currently drop off waste at Clarke County Landfill.
Although it could be the most expensive option, Clarke County should build another landfill.
I don't care what the city decides.
