According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Kevin Leroy Obermeier, 59, of Woodburn, driving a 2009 Chevy truck was northbound on Liberty Highway when a deer entered the roadway and Obermeier was unable to avoid striking the deer.

Estimated damage was $4,000 to Obermeier’s vehicle.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Larry Dwaine Becker, 56, of Chariton, driving a 2007 Ford was east bound on Highway 34 when a deer headed south across Highway 34 ran into Becker’s vehicle.

Estimated damage was $2,000 to Becker’s vehicle.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Christina Lynn Cook, 39, of Osceola, driving a 2009 Chevy was westbound on Leisure Street when a deed came out of the south ditch and struck Cook’s driver side door.

Estimated damage was $2,000 to Cook’s vehicle.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Misty Renea Chamberlain, 42, of Murray, driving a 2006 Chevy westbound struck a deer that entered the roadway from the south ditch.

Estimated damage was $2,500 to Chamberlain’s vehicle.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Steven John DeWit, 47, of Tracy, driving a 2005 Ford was eastbound on Highway 34 when a deer entered the roadway from the north ditch and DeWit was unable to safely avoid striking the deer.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to DeWit’s vehicle.

Curtis Robert Sterling, 20, of Osceola, was cited for failure to provide financial liability during an accident after an accident 2:40 p.m. Nov. 11 on Elk Street.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Sterling, driving a 2001 Dodge truck was driving east on Elk Street and lost control on a patch of ice, the vehicle went into the north ditch, stuck a culvert and rolled once coming to rest on its side.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Sterling’s vehicle.

According to Diana Lynne Brammer, 61, of Murray, driving a 2018 Chevy was northbound on 140th Avenue when a deer appeared in the roadway and Brammer was unable to safely avoid striking the deer.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Grant O’Brien McCoulley, 38, of Bettendorf, driving a 2012 Subaru was north bound when the right rear tire of his vehicle blew out, the vehicle then did a 360 degree turn in the middle of Interstate 35 and struck a guard rail on the east bound side coming to rest in the east ditch.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to McCoulley’s vehicle.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Lorie Ann Howe, 50, of New Virginia, driving a 2009 Chevy truck was northbound on Starline Avenue when a deer ran out of the ditch and struck the front end of the vehicle.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Howe’s vehicle.

According to an Osceola Police report, an unoccupied 2006 Chevy was parked on the railway to the west of the Ayers Street intersection when BNSF train Engine # 6254 was eastbound on the tracks struck the unoccupied 2006 Chevy going approximately 55 mph, the train pushed the vehicle through the crossing arm causing the crossing arm to break.

Estimated damage was $7,000 to BNSF Engine # 6254 and $5,000 to the unoccupied Chevy.

According to an Osceola Police report, Tracey Shannon Terpstra, 48, of Centerville, driving a 2016 Freightliner semi attempted to drive under a canopy but the vehicle was too tall and Terpstra’s vehicle struck the canopy.

Estimated damage was $2,500 to Quality Inn’s canopy and $2,000 to Terpstra’s vehicle.

According to an Osceola Police report, Scott Christopher Johnson, 36, of West Des Moines, driving a 2011 Honda was turning south onto South Main Street from McLane Street when glare from the sun obscured Johnson’s vision he struck Johnny Franklin Miler, 51, of Osceola, driving a 2008 Chevy truck after Miler failed to yield to Johnson while turning into the Casey’s parking lot, the collision sent Miler’s vehicle into another collision with Stacey Lynn Westphal, 48, of Seymour, driving a 2017 Ford as she waited for traffic to exit the Casey’s parking lot.

Estimated damage was $5,000 to Johnson’s vehicle, $5,000 to Miler’s vehicle and $500 to Westphal’s vehicle.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Cody Scott Wright, 36, of Woodburn, driving a 2000 Peterbuilt semi was southbound on Truro Pavement when he saw flames coming out of the hood of his vehicle. After coming to a stop and using multiple fire extinguishers Wright was able to put out the fire.

Estimated damage was $15,000 to Wright’s vehicle.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Fredrick Anthony Cline, 50, of Colorado, driving a 2007 Chevy was southbound in the left lane of Interstate 35 when a deer crossed into the left lane from the median and Cline was unable to safely avoid striking the deer.

Estimated damage was $8,000 to Cline’s vehicle.

Terry Wayne Morgan, 54, of Osceola, was cited for open container after an accident 6:18 p.m. Saturday on the 2500 blk of Highway 69.

According to a Clarke County Sheriff’s report, Morgan, driving a 2014 Dodge truck was distracted looking at the patrol car that was parked on the side of the road after helping Matthew W Myers, 44, of Ohio, driving a 2009 Chevy find East Side Auto after Myers when bearing had gone out, Myers was driving south bound slowly and Morgan was driving northbound and swerved after seeing Myers vehicle but the vehicles still collided.

Estimated damage was $15,000 to Myers vehicle and $10,000 to Morgan’s vehicle.
