SEYMOUR – An explosive second half was what Murray needed to pull away from Seymour Monday night in a 61-28 win.

The game, previously scheduled for Sept. 27, was changed due to weather. The quick turnaround from a loss to Lenox Friday night did not knock Murray off its game as the Mustangs racked up 360 total yards.

Reece Held rushed for 123 yards on 17 attempts. He, along with Zack Belden and Chance Lecy, had two rushing scores.

Lecy rushed for 92 yards on 17 attempts and Belden rushed for 51 ayrds on seven attempts. Belden passed for 87 yards, completing four passes for two scores.

Held had a reveiving score going for 24 yards and Kegan Johnson had two catche for 49 yards.

On defense Held and Belden each had two interceptions. Rilee Werner had two sacks.

“We got a much needed victory on a short turnaround after being destroyed by Lenox last Friday. Unfortunately it doesn’t get any easier as we head to district-leading Southeast Warren Friday before finishing at home versus Mormon Trail,” said Murray coach Keith Shields.

Lenox 70, Murray 6

LENOX – Murray lost to Lenox Friday on the road by a 70-6 final.

Belden passed for 52 yards with one passing touchdown and one interception. His one score went to Held for 44 yards.

Chance Lecy went for 15 yards on eight attempts.

Held had nine solo tackles and 10 1/2 total tackles. Tyson Nall had five tackles.

Central Decatur 44, Martensdale-St.
Marys 14

MARTENSDALE – Central Decatur picked up its third straight win Friday night with a win over Martensdale-St. Marys 44-14.

The Cardinals had a 397-yard say from Cole Pedersen, 231 of it being rushing yards.

He scored twice by way of the run, once by a way of the pass and one by way of a reception.

Dakota Reed also had a receiving score, going for 31 yards. He had 52 total yards total.

Brogan Bundt had five solo tackles and Teagan Carson had three solo tackles for a loss.

The Cardinals picked off two passes with TJ Fallis and Haden Leymaster each picking off a pass.

Interstate 35 41, Woodward Academy 0

TRURO – Interstate 35 blanked Woodward Academy Friday, winning 41-0.

The Roadrunners were led by Jack Smith on the ground, scoring twice on 17 attempts and 106 yards.

Joey Bregar completed four passes on six attempts for 41 yards and a score to Carter Bussanmas. Bregar also rushed for 23 yards, scoring once.

Bussanmas’ score went from 17 yards out. He had 31 of Bregar’s 41 passing yards to himself.

Mason Edwards had three solo tackles and Cristian Roquet and Sam Vonnahme had two solo tackles each. Edwards, Roquet and Vonnahme had two sacks apiece.

Bregar had the team-high in tackles with six.

Bussanmas and Roquet each had fumble recoveries.
