Bobby Gene Ashby, son of George William and Lalia Lucille Ashby, was born June 28, 1943, in Centerville and passed from this life Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola at 76 years of age. Visitation will be Tuesday with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., in Osceola. Graveside Services will be held at Union Cemetery in Clarke County, Wednesday Aug.14, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. James “Pete” R. Sheesley officiating. Bob grew up in the Lucas and Norwood area. He was united in marriage to Carol Sue Pool on Jan. 5, 1964, in Nebraska, and they were blessed with seven children and many foster children. Bob loved his family and was a very loving and caring family man. He enjoyed going to church and had a strong faith in God. Bob was an outdoor man. He enjoyed camping and fishing with family. He enjoyed working on his farm. Bob worked 30 plus years as a heavy equipment operator for Grimes Asphalt and Paving. He drove a school bus for Murray Community Schools.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Carol Sue Ashby of Murray; son, Danny Grant (Chris) Ashby of Bloomfield; son, Frank (Tammy) Ashby of Murray; daughter, Angelia (Rodney) Glazebrook of Dade City, Florida; daughter, Kelli (Dan) Ritter of Murray; son, Danny (Brandy) Schraven of Winterset; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brother, Terry (Carol) Ashby of Murray; brother, Jim (Dee) Ashby of Winterset; brother, Doyle (Deb) Ashby of Norwalk; brother, Steve Ashby of Truro; brother, Rick (Carol) Ashby of Truro; brother-in-law, Ed Otto of Murray; as well as other relatives and many friends.

Those relatives who preceded Bobby in death were his parents, George and Lucille Ashby; sons: Bruce Schraven and David Frees; sister, Peggy Otto; and an infant brother.
