Accidents

No citations were issued after an accident 8:36 p.m. Aug. 7 at Pilot Truck Stop.

According to an Osceola Police report, Samson Tadesse Tesseman, 53, of Minnesota, driving a 1917 Kenworth semi was backing up in the Pilot Truck Stop truck parking lot and backed into a legally parked 2018 Kenworth semi truck.

Estimated damage was $1,500 to the 2018 Kenworth semi and $1,500 to Tesseman’s vehicle.

Wyatt Newton Watkins, 23, of Osceola, was cited for two counts of failure to obey traffic control device and reckless driving after an accident 9:45 p.m. Aug. 8 on North Roosevelt Boulevard.

According to an Osceola Police report, Watkins, driving a 1999 Chevy ran a stop sign at the intersection of Main Street and Shaw Street, ran a second stop sign at the intersection of Shaw Street and Roosevelt Boulevard, lost control while attempting to turn onto North Roosevelt Boulevard and hit a tree in the front yard of 801 N. Roosevelt Blvd.

Estimated damage was $300 to the tree and yard at 801 N. Roosevelt Blvd. and $2,000 to Watkins’ vehicle.

No citations were issued after an accident 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Quality Inn parking lot.

According to an Osceola Police report, Martin Zabawa Augustus, 42, of Minnesota, driving a 2017 Hyundai thought that the curb between the Quality Inn parking lot and the Super 8 parking lot was a speed bump and after drove over it, the significant drop on the south side caused damage to Augustus’ vehicle.

Estimate damage was $500 to Augustus’ vehicle.
